A negotiator for ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya says the
opposing sides in that country's political crisis have agreed on a plan
that could resolve the stalemate over the June overthrow of Mr.
Zelaya's government .
The representative, Victor Meza, Wednesday said the two sides have
agreed on a point related to the deposed president's return to power.
Meza provided no details of the draft agreement.
There was no immediate comment from Mr. Micheletti's negotiators. He
and Mr. Zelaya now must ratify the agreement reached by their
representatives in talks in the capital, Tegucigalpa.
Mr. Zelaya was ousted June 28 and sent into exile. Opponents say he was
trying to illegally change the constitution to extend his term in
office. He secretly returned to Honduras September 21 and is holed up
at the Brazilian embassy in Tegucigalpa.
The international community has refused to recognize the interim government.
