Muna Shams currently works in New York as a professional auditor. She was born in Sharjah, UAE, grew up there and studied Chartered Accountancy. Her Bangladeshi parents encouraged her in learning Indian classical dance since she was a child. She loves the life in New York and considers herself as a citizen of the world with strong Bangladeshi identity.

 

In an exclusive interview with VOA Bangla she gives reasons for choosing New York City as her professional place and compares and contrasts between Dubai and New York.  Muna also says that life in New York is precisely timed. In a day at New York , one can do so many things . She is also a Kathak Dancer and took special lessons on this genre of Indian  classical dance in Kolkata .
