Washington Barta offers a weekly glimpse on important international issues concerning U.S.-Bangladesh relations, South Asia, and the people of Bangladesh and features interviews with prominent Americans and Bangladeshis, including members of the U.S. Congress, U.S. officials, and Bangladesh officials.

Washington Barta is a bridge between two cultures, depicting real world life experiences of ordinary Americans and Bangladeshi immigrants in the United States. The program airs every Friday at 11:25 p.m. (Bangladesh time), on the popular television affiliate, NTV, and is rebroadcast Saturday mornings at 11:50 a.m. (Bangladesh time).

Her Bangladeshi parents encouraged her in learning Indian classical dance since she was a child. VOA Bangla Service celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. It started on the 1st of January 1958 with daily radio programs only. Since then it has evolved with time and has become a multi media organization.
