Burmese opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi has again called on the country's military government to honor her political party's win in parliamentary elections in 1990.

The Nobel laureate used the 13th anniversary of the election win today (Tuesday) to call on the Burmese people to continue to strive for democracy.

She said the military government's continued refusal to honor the results of the 1990 election is insulting and disrespectful of the Burmese people.

Aung San Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy won 392 of 485 seats in the 1990 election.
