The Bangkok based Burma Lawyer’s Council has condemned Burmese authorities over the death of Ma Nyo Kyi, a villager from Myo Hla town in central Burma and accused the town police of murdering her.
The BLC in its statement released on August 1, accused the police of Myo Hla town of killing Ma Nyo Kyi, arrested on suspicion of being a thief. The BLC alleged that she was beaten to death in the police station.
