General Aung San's Family (File)

This week Women's Corner presents a special program on the profile of the Late Daw Khin Kyi, beloved wife of Burma's Founding Father Bogyoke Aung San and mother of Burmese Democracy Leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. 

Renowned Poet Tin Moe dedicated his poems for the Late Daw Khin Kyi on her seventeenth Memorial Anniversary.  She passed away December 19, 1988.  

A close friend of General Aung San's family, Thakin Ohn Myint -NLD recalls his memorable moments of Daw Khin Kyi's dedication towards her nursing career, social welfare politics and diplomatic service. 

Thakin Ohn Myint talked about how the ailing Daw Khin Kyi expressed her sadness on the tragic death of Maung Phone Maw, a student of Rangoon Institute of Technology, which sparked the 1988 Student uprising in Burma.
