Friday May 2, 2008 Tropical Cyclone Nargis had sustained winds of 185 kilometers an hour, gusting to 230 kilometers per hour as it approached the coast of Myanmar, according to the U.S. Navy Joint Typhoon Warning Center.
More than 350 people have died from a powerful cyclone that knocked out power in the impoverished country's commercial capital and destroyed thousands of homes(AP Photo/ Democratic voice of Burma, HO).
