1 Killed in Bangladesh Strike

Officials in Bangladesh say a nationwide general strike staged by the opposition has resulted in at least one death. Several other people were wounded.

The three-day strike, which began Sunday, is aimed at forcing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to step down, making way for polls under a caretaker government.

A new election is set for early next year.
