10 Killed in Bomb Blast in Pakistan

TEXT SIZE - +
Pakistani officials say 10 people were killed and more than 20 wounded in a bomb blast near a market in Pakistan's northwestern tribal belt.

The attack happened Friday in Kalaya, the main town in the Orakzai tribal region, where the military has long been battling Taliban and al-Qaida-linked militants.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

Orakzai is one of several tribal districts near the Afghanistan-Pakistan border where Taliban and al-Qaida-linked militants have established strongholds to plot attacks on Pakistani, Afghan and other targets.
