TEXT SIZE - +
Russian officials say an explosion at a coal mine in the country's north has killed 18 miners.

Some reports say the cause of the blast was a build-up of methane gas. The reports have not been confirmed.

Officials say 10 bodies have so far been brought up from the mine.

Only a handful of miners are reported to have been rescued from the mine.

The deadly accident took place Monday in Russia's Komi region.
