Seven Border Guards Killed in Iraq's Kurdish Region

Officials in Iraq's Kurdistan region say gunmen have killed seven border guards near the Iranian border.

They say the guards were ambushed early Sunday.  Iraq's Kurdistan region has been relatively peaceful compared to the rest of the country.

In other violence today, a car bomb killed at least four people and wounded 15 others in central Baghdad.

South of the capital, gunmen killed the wife and son of a city official in Aziziyah.

North of Baghdad, a roadside bomb killed a truck driver near the oil refinery of Baiji. 

On Saturday, car bomb blasts in Baghdad killed 10 civilians and wounded 24 others.
