South Africa Wins Cricket Series Over Bangladesh


South Africa's cricket team defeated Bangladesh by an innings and 48 runs on the third day of the second test to sweep a two-test series.

Bangladesh struggled Friday before being bowled out at 131 in its second innings at South Africa's Centurion Park.

Ashwell Prince and Mark Boucher posted centuries to lead South Africa to 429 all out in its first innings. Their sixth wicket partnership yielded 271 runs with Prince going 162 not out, and Boucher scoring 117. Prince now has 10 test centuries.

South African fast bowlers Makhaya Ntini, Morne Morkel and Monde Zondeki netted two wickets each, while the tourists also suffered three run-outs.

In one bright spot, Bangladesh left-arm spinner Shakib al-Hasan took three wickets in four balls against South Africa, which suffered a five-wicket loss for 24 runs. Shakib finished with six-for-99.

South Africa won the first test by an innings and 129 runs.
