O'Sullivan, Mike

Los Angeles Bureau Chief Mike O'Sullivan worked for VOA through the 1980s. He then spent four years in Japan as a college professor and freelance reporter, before returning to us in 1998.

Mike's reporting has taken him to Alaska, Hawaii, and high above the Nevada desert on a flight with the U.S. Navy's "Blue Angels."

Before coming to VOA, Mike worked in public radio. He completed a Ph.D. in Comparative Religion and Ethics at the University of Southern California.

Mike's wife, Xiaohong, is from Shanghai, China, and his son, Sean, was born in Japan.
