While this film is probably not the Oscar winner of this category, this review sells Buzkashi Boys short (pun intended). Visually, Buzkashi Boys offers much more than just 'vivid shots of the ancient Afghan sport called Buzkashi'. Sam French captured stunning landscapes inside Khabul -- from war-torn rubble of opulent castles to rusted-out landfills -- he created a on-screen art gallery of treasure where most would only see trash.

Unfortunately, this film fails to render the emotion a viewer expects from a deeply tragic story of family and friendship.

I saw the film, it is nice and showcases life in Afghanistan in a unique way but I don't think it should win the Oscar. The entries from Belgium and Canada, in my opinion, are the strongest contenders.
