Palestinian medical officials say Israeli troops have shot and killed two Palestinians near the Gaza Strip border.

Officials say the incident took place overnight in northern Gaza.

Israeli military officials say troops had opened fire on a group of Palestinians who were attempting to unlawfully cross a border fence.

Separately, Israeli military officials say suspected militants in Gaza fired at least one projectile into Israel on Wednesday. They say no damage or injuries were reported.
