Officials in Niger say Moammar Gadhafi's intelligence chief, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court, is now in the West African nation of Mali.

The officials, who did not want to be identified, say Abdullah al-Senussi passed through Niger and into the Malian desert with the help of ethnic Tuaregs, who were mostly supportive of Gadhafi during his time in power.

The ex-spy chief and Gadhafi's son, Seif al-Islam, both fled Libya recently as anti-Gadhafi forces seized the late ruler's last strongholds.

Officials say the location of Seif al-Islam Gadhafi is unknown, though he is also believed to be travelling through the Sahara.

The ICC wants both al-Senussi and Gadhafi's son on charges of crimes against humanity.  The court issued warrants for their arrest in June.

The global police organization Interpol has sent alerts to all its 188 member countries, along with information on how to identify both men.

Moammar Gadhafi was killed in Libya last week when provisional government forces stormed his hometown of Sirte.

Some information for this report was provided by AP and AFP.

Video Volunteers Help Revive LA's Concrete River

The Los Angeles River is a concrete drainage channel through much of its 80-kilometer length. It channels waste-water from storm drains and has become a receptacle for much of the city's trash. But as Mike O'Sullivan reports, the river is slowly being restored with the help of volunteers, who take part in an annual clean-up.
