Sunni Group Attacks Lebanese Army

Officials in northeast Lebanon say a suicide car bomber has targeted an army checkpoint, killing at least three people.

Authorities say the blast happened Saturday in the Shi'ite-dominated town of Hermel.

The Nusra Front, a militant Sunni group, has claimed responsibility for the attack.

It said the assault was in retaliation for Hezbollah's involvement in the war in neighboring Syria.
