Taliban Captures 9 Civilians in Afghanistan

Officials in eastern Afghanistan say the Taliban has captured nine civilians after their helicopter made an emergency landing in militant-controlled territory.

The aircraft landed late Sunday amid bad weather in the Azra district of Logar province, about 30 kilometers from the Pakistani border. It was flying from Khost to the capital, Kabul.

The people on board included at least six Turkish nationals and one Afghan.

NATO says it is helping efforts to recover the helicopter.
