Taliban Kills 19 Afghan Soldiers

Afghan officials say Taliban militants have attacked an army base in eastern Afghanistan, killing 19 soldiers and kidnapping seven.

Authorities say two soldiers were wounded in the assault early Sunday in the Ghaziabad district in Kunar province.

Officials say Afghan forces have launched a mission to rescue the captured soldiers.

The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.
