Jordan has denied allegations in a Human Rights Watch report that the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency secretly sent terror suspects to the country for interrogation.

The Jordanian Minister of State for Information and Communications, Nasser Judeh, says the report is wrong and based on individual allegations.

On Tuesday, New York-based Human Rights Watch said Jordan was the top destination for CIA transfers known as "renditions" between 2001 and 2004.

The group's report says at least 14 terror suspects were transferred to Jordan during that time. It also says Jordan's intelligence department served as jailer for the CIA, and routinely tortured and mistreated detainees.

Human Rights Watch also says it uncovered eight previously unknown cases of rendition based on information it received from former Jordanian prisoners who were detained with non-Jordanian terror suspects.
