Dan Austin became the 27th director of the Voice of America (VOA) on October 30, 2006. Austin joined VOA following a 36-year career with Dow Jones & Company, serving most recently as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ottaway Newspapers, Inc., the community-media subsidiary of Dow Jones with print and Internet publications in seven states.

As Director of VOA, Austin oversees a worldwide multimedia operation that broadcasts in 45 languages and reaches more than 115 million people each week via radio, television, and the Internet.

VOA’s Executive Editor, Steve Redisch, functions as VOA’s chief operating officer. He supervises the daily operations and activities of VOA's news, programs, language services, broadcast operations, and Internet departments.

John oversees the radio and television programming of VOA for all six language divisions, facilitating the development of a vibrant multi-media organization using television, Internet, and radio to reach worldwide audiences.

Mark Prahl

Mark is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating VOA's radio and television technical operations, and for the overall management of the financial and human resources employed in the Operations Directorate. He is also the senior advisor to the VOA Director on matters pertaining to broadcast engineering and operations.
