Vincent Makori joined VOA's Swahili Service as a broadcaster from Germany where he had been working as editor/producer with the African Division of Deutsche Welle International Radio and TV, from 1998 to 2001. Prior to that, he worked as reporter, editor and broadcaster at the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation Radio and Television.
While at KBC, he presented TV and radio news in English, and hosted a popular television interview program, FACE TO FACE, which tackled tough political, social and economic issues of the day. Mr. Makori was also host of a current affairs daily evening television show, Mamboleo, and the weekly Television Press Conference. He began as staff writer with The Weekly Express and later joined DRUM Publications (E.A.) Limited before joining KBC. Vincent holds a Bachelor of Arts Honors Degree from Moi University, Kenya, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication from the School of Journalism of the University of Nairobi, Kenya. |
