The United States has named its women's ice hockey team for the 2006 Winter Olympics, with several Olympic veterans on the roster.

Forwards Jenny Potter, Katie King and Tricia Dunn-Luoma and defensive player Angela Ruggiero will be making their third appearance in the Olympics.

Krissy Wendell, a silver medalist four years ago in Salt Lake City, will serve as team captain. Three of Wendell's 2002 teammates - Julie Chu, Courtney Kennedy and Natalie Darwitz - are also on the Turin squad.

Several players - including 18-year-old Sarah Parsons, the team's youngest member - will be making their Olympic debuts in Turin.

Seventeen of the 20 players named also represented the United States when it won the gold medal at this year's Women's World Championships in April.

Team U.S.A. begins the Olympic tournament February 11 against Switzerland. The Americans play Germany in their second match and take on Finland in the final preliminary round match.
