| | Rod Murray Rodrick “Rod” Murray is host and producer of the Hip Hop Connection show at the Voice of America. He is also an International Radio Broadcaster, writing segments for Africa World Tonight and producing and directing live news magazine shows. A Chicago native, Rod earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Winston-Salem State University, where he was a radio personality and music director at the school’s radio station WSNC-FM 90. « back to top

| | Dee Dee Barron Dee Dee is the newest member of the Hip Hop Connection family. She came to Voice of America in 1992 as an intern with the music library. She briefly left to pursue medicine, but realized music is her first love and she returned to VOA as a production assistant. Dee Dee catalogs and records music and scripts and also edits, produces and directs radio programs. In 2004, Dee Dee was named VOA’s “Employee of the Year” and subsequently, Rod Murray asked her to join Hip Hop Connection. « back to top
