Leonard in Lead After Second Round of Muirfield Golf Tournament

Former British Open champion Justin Leonard of the United States has a one stroke lead over countryman Harrison Frazar after the second round of the Memorial tournament in Muirfield, Ohio.

Leonard fired a seven under par, 65 in his second round and is 10-under- par, 134 for the tournament. Frazar also shot a 7-under-par in his second round and is one stroke back at nine under par, 135.

Former Masters Champion Vijay Singh of Fiji is tied with Americans Bob Tway and Stewart Cink two strokes off the lead at 8-under-par, 136. Singh fired a 5-under-par, 67 in his second round while Tway was 1-under-par and Cink was 2-under-par for the day.

World number one golfer Tiger Woods of the United States shot a 2-under- par, 70 in his second round and is at even-par, 144 for the tournament. Woods is attempting to win the tournament for the fourth straight time.


Danish golfer Anders Hansen has the lead after the second round of the Volvo PGA tournament on a day when first round leader Colin Montgomerie of Scotland hit a spectator with a bad drive.

The 31-year-old Dane shot a 7-under-par, 65 on the Wentworth, England West Course to go to 11-under-par, 133 for the tournament.

Montgomerie dropped three shots in the final four holes and hit a spectator on the head with an errant drive on the 16th hole. The spectator was knocked unconscious but later recovered and was taken to a local hospital.

The 38-year-old Scot is tied with Argentina's Eduardo Romero at 9-under- par, 135 for the tournament. Romero fired a 4-under-par, 68 in his second round.

Spain's Carlos Rodiles shot a 67 in his second round and is tied for fourth with Zimbabwe's Mark McNulty at eight under par, 136 for the tournament. McNulty had a 3-under-par, 69 in his second round.
