21 February 2005

Kenya
Police in Kenya say they have arrested three men suspected of terrorist activities.

The suspects authorities say are a Sudanese national and either two Kenyans or two Somalis were arrested Saturday after police stopped their car at a checkpoint near the border with Somalia.

Police took the three men into custody after they failed to identify themselves and offered conflicting stories on where they were going.

Alex Rono, the provincial police chief in the Indian coast area where the arrests were made says the suspected terrorist were taken to Nairobi where they are undergoing further questioning.
