Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao is to tour technology firms in Bangalore, India, Sunday, ahead of his Monday meeting with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Mr. Wen arrived in India Saturday on a four-day visit aimed at helping solve a long-standing border dispute and injecting what he calls "fresh vigor" into India-China relations. Mr. Wen said in a statement Saturday that as the world's two major developing countries, China and India must exert a positive influence on peace and development in Asia.

The Chinese leader will travel to New Delhi for Monday's meeting with Prime Minister Singh on border issues and bilateral trade.

In New Delhi Saturday, Tibetan youths staged a protest in front of the Chinese Embassy timed to coincide with the Chinese prime minister's visit. Members of the Tibetan Youth Congress shouted anti-China slogans and demanded that Tibet be freed from Chinese rule.

Police in Bangalore arrested two Tibetan leaders to prevent them from organizing demonstrations. Several dozen Tibetan students were also placed under house arrest to prevent any protests. Bangalore is located in India's Karnataka state, which is home to more than 20,000 Tibetans.

Mr. Wen is on the last leg of a week-long, four-nation tour of South Asia.
