Pakistani officials say intelligence agents have arrested a suspected Taleban fighter wanted by the Afghan government in the killing of a prominent pro-U.S. Afghan leader.
They say the Afghan national, Sirajul Haq, was picked up in the raid late Sunday in Karachi's eastern Malir neighborhood.
Sirajul Haq was wanted in the slaying of 43-year old Abdul Haq, a pro-U.S. Afghan leader who was captured and killed by the Taleban in eastern Afghanistan in October 2001.
The Taleban captured Abdul Haq when he slipped into his homeland from neighboring Pakistan on a secret mission to try to incite a rebellion against the militia, when then controlled Afghanistan.
