Podcasts Coming to VOA

26 May 2005

Choose Your News Feeds!  VOANews.com is now offering more options for web users who want choices in how they receive their news.

RSS
Voice of America has now incorporated "Really Simple Syndication", or RSS, into its website so you can select the specific categories of news you are interested in and have them fed directly into your RSS reader. To use an RSS feed, copy the URL and paste it into your RSS News Reader, or click on the XML link next to the topic and follow the instructions for your Reader.

VOA encourages you to add VOA news feeds to your personal RSS News Reader, or to your own Web sites or blogs. Please be sure to attribute VOA, VOANews.com, or Voice of America when posting one of our news feeds in your blog or Web site.

Visit our RSS page for links to the feeds and more information about RSS Readers. http://www.voanews.com/english/rss.cfm

MP3s and Podcasts
We're also making it easier than ever to download MP3 audio files of your favorite programs for later listening. From our Podcasts page, you can hear news analysis and talk programs like Encounter and Press Conference USA, our premiere science and technology program Our World, and Special English, our signature program for learning American English. You can also download Border Crossings, the all-request music show from VOA Music Mix.

Check out our Podcasts page: http://www.voanews.com/english/podcasts.cfm

In coming weeks, we hope to offer additional programs, as well as podcasts that will use xml to automatically notify you when your favorite shows have been updated, so keep checking back!

These features are currently available on our English-language site. We hope to offer more of them in other languages in coming weeks, so watch your favorite pages for RSS and Podcast updates.
