After taking several years off from her career in Country music, 34-year-old Jo Dee Messina is making a successful comeback. Her first studio album in five years, Delicious Surprise.

"Not Going Down" is just one of the songs on Jo Dee Messina's new album, Delicious Surprise, that deals with overcoming obstacles.

It's been four years since she appeared on the Country chart. During her years away, Jo Dee's engagement to her former tour manager ended, she split with her management company, and spent time in an alcohol rehabilitation program. Jo Dee now has control over her professional and personal problems, as she sings in "Life Is Good."

"Life Is Good" is one of five songs Jo Dee Messina wrote for her new album that convey messages of optimism, hope and strength. She says, "My greatest hope is that somewhere, somebody will hear this record, and find in it what I've found in music my entire life, reassurance, understanding, inspiration, strength and compassion."

The Massachusetts native arrived on the Country scene in 1996. Just three years later, Billboard Country Airplay Monitor listed her as the most-played female artist in the U.S. Before disappearing from Country music, Jo Dee recorded four albums, which produced such hits as "I'm Alright," "That's The Way" and "Bring On The Rain," her Number One duet with Country superstar Tim McGraw.

Jo Dee's new release marked her third consecutive Number One entry on the Country Albums chart. She's scheduled to spend the next four months performing U.S. concerts in support of the album.

The debut single from Delicious Surprise is a track Country veteran Joe Diffie co-wrote and recorded for his 2001 album, In Another World. Jo Dee's version of the song flew to the top of the Country chart. It's success made her the first female artist in the history of the Billboard Country Singles chart to have three consecutive multiple-week charttoppers.
