Officials in Equatorial Guinea say a plane with at least 45 people on board has disappeared shortly after takeoff.
The officials say the Russian-built Antonov plane was on a domestic flight from the capital, Malabo, on Bioko Island in the Atlantic to the city of Bata on the mainland, when it disappeared from the radar screen Saturday.
Equatorial Guinea's Information Minister told the Reuters news agency there are fears the plane crashed in the sea.
Military helicopters are searching for the aircraft.
