George Bush in Crawford, Texas

President Bush says he expects that Iran's new president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, will receive a U.S. visa to attend an annual United Nations meet in New York City next month.

Mr. Bush made the remark Thursday after meeting at his Crawford, Texas ranch with his top defense and foreign policy advisors, including Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.

The president also praised the International Atomic Energy Agency for demanding Iran suspend its recently resumed nuclear activity.

On Iraq, the president said he expects the country's new constitution will be completed by August 15. He also said that no decision has been made on U.S. troop reductions in Iraq.

Mr. Bush added that he understands the frustration of anti-war activists and Americans who want a timetable for troop withdrawals from Iraq.

Recent opinion polls indicate that Americans are becoming increasingly disillusioned by the rate of progress in Iraq.
