NHL: Frolov, Conroy Get Hat Tricks in Kings Win

14 November 2005

Los Angeles forwards Alexander Frolov and Craig Conroy scored three goals apiece to lead the Kings to a 8-2 shellacking of the Columbus Blue Jackets in Sunday's National Hockey League action.

Frolov notched his hat trick within an eight-minute span in the first period. Conroy scored twice in the first, then added another tally in the third period on the ice in Columbus. Conroy also had two assists, and Frolov had one. The Blue Jackets are without injured leading scorer Rick Nash until mid-December.

In a match-up of two division leaders, Vancouver's Todd Bertuzzi posted his fourth career hat trick, scoring three goals to give the Canucks a 4-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings. The home win snapped the Canucks' three game losing streak.

In the league's only other two games Sunday, Dallas's Philippe Boucher and Jere Lehtinen scored less than a minute apart as the Stars topped the Anaheim Mighty Ducks 3-1, and Chicago goalie Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 26 shots as the host Blackhawks defeated of the Edmonton Oilers 3-1.
