Hollywood couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt flew by helicopter to Port-au-Prince, Haiti from the Dominican Republic to lend support to the foundation of friend and hip-hop artist Wyclef Jean - a native of Haiti.

Jean's foundation, Yele Haiti, is dedicated to helping lives of Haiti's youths and is supported by Jolie and other Hollywood luminaries.

The couple traveled in a convoy through the capital, protected by police and U.N. peacekeepers as crowds cheered. Jolie is a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations.

Jolie and Pitt visited a school where some students have received scholarships from Yele Haiti. The celebrities also dropped by a juvenile jail where the charity plans to begin a tutoring program for inmates.

The couple is scheduled to return Saturday to the Dominican Republic, where Jolie is filming a movie.
