Pakistan Army troops search for bodies at the train incident site in Domeli, about 100 kilometers (60 miles) southeast of Islamabad

Pakistan's military says at least three people have been killed and 40 others injured after a passenger train carrying up to 600 people derailed, and some cars plunged into a ravine

A military spokesman, Major-General Shaukat Sultan, says all the other passengers are believed to have been rescued with the injured taken to local hospitals.

The derailment late Sunday in Punjab province happened near the city of Jhelum and involved an express train traveling from Rawalpindi to Lahore. The cause of the accident is not known.

Hundreds of people have died in recent years on Pakistan's railways.

Last July, at least 133 people were killed in a train collision in Sindh province. It was Pakistan's worst train crash in a decade.
