Former Pakistani all-round cricketer Wasim Raja has died of a heart attack while playing a match in London. He was 54.

A Pakistani team official says that Raja, who played 57 tests and 54 one-day internationals during his career, died while playing a match with the Surrey over 50 club at Marlow in Buckinghamshire.

Wasim Raja was one of Pakistan's best all-round players, a left-handed middle-order batsman who could also pace and spin bowl. He was coach of the Pakistani team in 1997 and was an International Cricket Council elite panel match referee.

During his career, Raja scored 2,821 runs with four centuries. He also took 51 wickets with a best of four-for-50. He also refereed 15 tests, the last of which was in 2003-04.
