The crew of the U.S. space shuttle Atlantis has returned to the southeastern state of Florida to prepare for a new launch attempt on Wednesday.
Their shuttle launch was scrubbed earlier this week when a tropical storm Ernesto was expected to pass near the launch site. The spacecraft was moved to a hangar, and the six astronauts flew back to their training base in Houston.
If the National Air and Space Administration is not able to launch Atlantis next week, the mission to the International Space Station likely will be postponed until October.
NASA's plans call for an 11-day mission to the space station, where astronauts will conduct three spacewalks to attach solar panels. The panels eventually will generate one quarter of the station's energy.
