Life is certainly good for jazz sensation Diana Krall. She recently announced that she and husband Elvis Costello are expecting twins, and as VOA's Doug Levine tells us, she's just released a new album that has people talking.

From this moment on, life is going to get a little more hectic for Diana Krall. Leaving behind the single life when she married singer Elvis Costello in 2003, Krall will soon be basking in the glow of motherhood. Come December, this first-time mother will really know the meaning of a full schedule, day in and day out.

With parenthood looming, Diana Krall could easily have walked away from her stellar career and not looked back. But, having already achieved the pinnacle of success for any performer, including million-selling recordings, world tours and a pair of Grammy Awards, the 41-year-old singer and pianist says she has no intention of slowing down. In fact, family is her greatest inspiration, and with the arrival of twins, there will be plenty of inspiration to draw from for years to come.

With a song in her heart, Krall gravitated toward the Great American Songbook. "This album coincides with a happier time in my life," she says. "I think it's very obvious in the music. It reflects how I'm feeling now, the joy that I have in my marriage and family, and hopefully in the future."

From This Moment On  finds Krall edging ever closer to the Golden Age of Swing (musical era of the 1940s and '50s) without sacrificing any of the vocal nuances she's know for. It's a win-win situation with arrangements by John Clayton and Diana Krall, accompaniment by the Clayton/Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, and renowned engineer Al Schmitt at the mixing board.
