NBA: Arenas scores 51 in Wizards Win Over Jazz

nba logoGilbert Arenas has scored 51 points, including a three-pointer at the final buzzer, to lead the Washington Wizards to a 114-111 victory over the visiting Utah Jazz in National Basketball Association action.

Arenas led the Wizards back from a double-digit deficit Monday with the third 50-plus point game of his career. Mehmet Okur led Utah with a career-high 38 points.

In Los Angeles, Kobe Bryant scored six of his 25 points in overtime to lead the Lakers to a 124-118 win over the defending NBA champion Miami Heat.

Phoenix star Amare Stoudemire scored a season-high 42 points in the Suns' 137-132 victory over the Grizzlies in Memphis.

Elsewhere, Earl Boykins scored 30 points while Australian player Andrew Bogut added a career-high 27 to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a 99-91 win over the Bobcats in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The New York Knicks handed the Sacramento Kings their sixth straight loss by beating the visitors 102-97. Stephon Marbury and Eddie Curry led the Knicks with 25 and 24 points respectively, as New York won the fourth game out of its last five.

The Toronto Raptors beat the Philadelphia 76ers ,104-86. The Chicago Bulls downed the San Antonio Spurs, 99-87. The Atlanta Hawks got by the Boston Celtics, 100-96. The Minnesota Timberwolves needed overtime, but defeated the Detroit Pistons, 94-90. The New Jersey Nets used 31 points from Vince Carter to trip up the Indiana Pacers, 105-95. And, the Golden State Warriors thumped the Los Angeles Clippers, 108-93.
