Victoria, David Beckham to Star in Reality TV Show; Michael Jackson Considering 'Numerous Offers' to Perform

Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham and her soccer star husband David Beckham will star in their own NBC reality show. The couple will soon move to Los Angeles, where David will play for the Galaxy. He recently signed a five-year deal with the Major League soccer team. The couple's reality show will reportedly follow their family's move to the United States and give viewers a look at their celebrity life. The series will air this summer as six 30-minute episodes.

On March 1, 29-year-old Angela Hacker was named the winner of the USA Network's fifth annual "Nashville Star" competition. The finale featured two other finalists, second-runner-up David St. Romain and first-runner-up Zac Hacker, Angela's 23-year-old brother. Angela won a recording deal with Warner Brothers Nashville, a Grand Ole Opry appearance and a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado.

Michael Jackson's spokeswoman, Raymone Bain, issued a press release confirming that the self-proclaimed "King of Pop" has been offered "numerous proposals," which include an engagement in Las Vegas. She also clarified Michael's reasons for moving to Las Vegas by saying, "Mr. Jackson is in Las Vegas because he likes the city and found it a convenient location to record with the artists, songwriters and producers who are working with him in the studio." As for recent reports that Michael might appear on an upcoming episode of American Idol, Bain's said, "Mr. Jackson has no current plans to appear or perform on American Idol. "

In other Michael Jackson news, the Associated Press reports that he'll travel to Japan this week to attend two fan appreciation parties scheduled for March 8 and 9. Michael said, "Tokyo is such a wonderful place, and I look forward to speaking to my friends and fans at both events. My fans have been so loving and supportive of me, and I am honored to attend an event to thank them for the love and support they have shown to me, and my family, throughout the years." Michael will meet, greet and take photos with the attendees, but is not obligated to perform.


On March 7, singer Kenny Loggins will be inducted into Hollywood's RockWalk. His handprints and signature will grace the sidewalk gallery dedicated to honoring artists who "have made a significant impact and lasting contribution to the growth and evolution of rock, blues and rhythm-and-blues." Previous inductees include Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, James Brown and Stevie Wonder, among others.


It just seems like yesterday that she was a 12-year-old child singing in VOA's studios with her stuffed teddy bear on her lap! Charlotte Church has announced on her web site that she and her boyfriend, Welsh rugby star Gavin Henson are expecting their first child. Charlotte, who turned 21 last month, currently hosts her own television show in Wales.

Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts and Carrie Underwood lead the nominees for the upcoming CMT (Country Music Television) Music Awards. Each received three mentions, including Video of the Year. That category features eight nominees. During the telecast, the final four will be announced, with fans responsible for deciding on the Video of the Year winner through online and mobile phone votes. Comedian Jeff Foxworthy will host the CMT Music Awards for the third consecutive year. The show will air live from Nashville on April 16. (Full list of nominees at www.cmt.com)

Nominations have been announced for the Blues Foundation's 2007 Blues Music Awards. Watermelon Slim and his band the Workers earned a leading six nominations, followed by Charlie Musselwhite, who picked up five nods. Other leading contenders include Nick Moss & the Flip Tops, Irma Thomas, Guy Davis, Cephas & Wiggins, Michael Powers, Janiva Magness and Lil' Ed & the Blues Imperials. This year's Blues Music Awards will be presented on May 10 in Memphis, Tennessee.

On March 6, Country legend Dolly Parton will kick off her first European tour since the 1970s. She's scheduled to perform in Norway, Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands, England and Scotland, before wrapping up the outing on April 3 in Belfast, Ireland.
