Suicide bombings have killed more than 30 people across Iraq in an upsurge in violence.

Police said Saturday a bomber, driving a truck loaded with bricks, detonated his explosives outside a police station in the predominantly Sunni district of Dora in southern Baghdad. Twenty people were killed in the blast, including at least 14 police officers.

A separate truck bomber Saturday killed at least five people and wounded another 30 in a suicide attack near a Shi'ite mosque south of Baghdad.

Iraqi officials say another suicide bomber blew himself up at a market in the northern Iraqi town of Tal Afar, killing 10 people.

In western al-Anbar province, the U.S. military says coalition airstrikes killed three armed terrorists as they tried to escape in a vehicle in a rural area, southeast of Ar-Rutbah. A fourth terrorist blew himself up.

U.S. military officials say two American soldiers were killed Friday in separate attacks in Baghdad and al-Anbar province.

Meanwhile, an Iraqi security spokesman said Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Salam al-Zobaie is in good condition after undergoing surgery for wounds he sustained in a suicide bomb attack Friday at his Baghdad compound.

He was seriously wounded and six other people were killed after one of his bodyguards set off explosives in the suicide attack in Baghdad.

Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki told state-run TV today that an investigation is under way to determine how the bomber was able to get his explosives inside the compound undetected.
