NHL Playoffs: Red Wings Edge Sharks

NHLIn National Hockey League quarterfinal playoff action, the host Detroit Red Wings came back from a 2-0 deficit late in the second period to beat the San Jose Sharks, 3-2.

Pavel Datsyuk scored the game winner Saturday with 1:24 to play, finding the net off a rebound to even the best-of-seven series at a win apiece.

Game three of the Western Conference series takes place Monday in San Jose.

The New Jersey Devils needed two overtimes to beat the Ottawa Senators, 3-2, in their Eastern Conference semifinal series, which is now tied at a win each.

Jamie Langenbrunner scored on a breakaway nearly two minutes into the second overtime, giving the host Devils the win. Teammate Martin Brodeur made 43 saves in goal.

The teams play again Monday in Ottawa.

The Stanley Cup quarterfinals continue Sunday with two games. In the Eastern Conference, the Buffalo Sabres take a two-games-to-none lead into New York to face the Rangers.

In the West, the Anaheim Ducks visit the Vancouver Canucks in a series tied at a win apiece.
