A top Russian space official says space tourism may be suspended in a few years due to a lack of seats.

The head of the Russian Space Agency, Anatoly Perminov, told reporters Thursday in Moscow the agency may not be able to satisfy requests of people seeking space trips past 2009. According to Perminov, more crew members will be added to space flights, leaving no room for tourists seeking a space journey.

Perminov also says with so many applications coming in, the space agency will not be able to grant all requests.

Space tourists have paid Russian authorities more than $20 million for each trip.
