The hula hoop debuted in the United States in the late 1950s and became one the most popular toys ever.  Some 50 years later, hooping classes are popping up across the United States.

The Hula Hoop, first produced by the American toy company, Wham-O, some 50 years ago, is now enjoying a renaissance of sorts in the United States.
