Democratic U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama is campaigning Monday in Montana, while his party rival, Hillary Clinton, holds events in Kentucky.
The campaigning comes on the eve of primaries in Kentucky and Oregon.
Clinton leads Obama in Kentucky opinion polls and has received the endorsement of four former governors of the state.
Obama campaigned Sunday in Oregon, where he is favored to win. An estimated 75,000 people attended a rally in Portland, where Obama criticized the Bush administration for its economic and energy policies and the war in Iraq.
Obama, an Illinois senator, leads Clinton, a New York senator and former first lady, in delegates needed to win the party nomination.
On the Republican side, presumptive nominee Senator John McCain spoke in Chicago, saying as president he would seek an end to all agricultural tariffs, and all farm subsidies that are not based on clear need.
Speaking to the National Restaurant Association, McCain, a veteran Arizona lawmaker, said his policies would help small farmers succeed and rural communities flourish once again.
