| Cuba Issues Hurricane Watch as Fay Approaches |

Cuba has issued a hurricane watch for parts of the island as Tropical Storm Fay moves toward it.
A watch means hurricane conditions are possible.
U.S. forecasters said the tropical storm was located between Haiti and Cuba on Saturday afternoon and was moving westward.
Forecasters expected the tropical storm to build strength over the warm waters and hit Cuba Saturday night or Sunday.
The
National Hurricane Center in Miami in the southeastern state of Florida
said the storm was centered about 80 kilometers south-southeast of
Guantanamo, Cuba. Fay had winds of 75 kilometers per hour with higher
gusts.
The hurricane center issued tropical storm warnings for Haiti, the Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos islands.
Fay dumped torrential rains over Haiti and the Dominican Republican early Saturday.
Fay is the sixth tropical storm of the 2008 Atlantic hurricane season, which is expected to be busier than usual.
