Rescue workers in Switzerland say the light from an MP3 music player helped them locate two lost skiers.

The two got lost late Friday near the resort of Savognin in southeast Switzerland. The Swiss air rescue association said it received a cell phone distress call from the pair, but the battery on the phone went dead before they were located.

A spokesman said the two Frenchmen were located shortly after midnight in steep, wooded terrain by a helicopter crew that spotted the light from their digital music player.

The men were suffering only mild hypothermia, despite temperatures of minus 15 degrees Celsius.

Some information for this report was provided by AP and Reuters.
