The percentage of families supported by women is expected to rise as the recession deepens.
A new study by the liberal Center for American Progress in Washington shows men are losing jobs at a disproportionately higher rate than women.

With no end in sight to what some economists say will be the longest recession since the Second World War, some analysts say women could soon outnumber men in the workplace.
