Zimbabwe's Highlanders Football Club Seeks to Lighten Debt Load

Zimbabwe's Highlanders Football Club has embarked on an aggressive marketing and fund-raising campaign to pay off its debts, especially US$23,000 owed to a private creditor who threatened to seize the team's clubhouse if he was not repaid.

Highlanders Chairman Themba Ndlela told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that heavy debts were inherited from a previous administration.
