A convoy carrying the remains of more than 500 people killed in the 1995 Srebrenica massacre is heading to eastern Bosnia-Herzegovina for the victims' burial.

Crowds of people gathered to pay their respects to the victims Thursday as the convoy wound its way through the capital, Sarajevo.  The remains will be buried Saturday at the Potocari Memorial site outside Srebrenica.

On July 11, 1995, Serb forces captured the United Nations-protected enclave of Srebrenica and later killed around 8,000 Muslim men and boys.

The parliament in neighboring Montenegro adopted a declaration Thursday condemning the Srebrenica massacre and other atrocities committed during the conflicts in the former Yugoslavia.  The declaration accepts a European Parliament resolution on Srebrenica.

At the time of the Srebrenica genocide, Montenegro and Serbia were two republics of what was then Yugoslavia.

The International Commission of Missing Persons says it has used DNA analysis to identify the remains of 6,186 of the Srebrenica victims.  The bodies were found in mass graves.
